About Rawess
Built in a lab,
raised on standards.
Two cosmetic chemists, one frustration: certificates that lie. Since 2015 we have been building the supplier we always wished existed.
01 — Origin
We started because a
COA broke our heart.
In 2014, our founders spent nine months stabilizing a serum around a "98% pure" botanical active — only to discover, under independent testing, that the drum held 61%. The COA was beautiful. The drum was lying. The product died; the lesson didn't.
Rawess began the next year with a simple rule that still governs everything: never ship a claim you cannot defend with an instrument trace. We bought the HPLC before we bought the office furniture. The first lab was 90 square meters above a tea warehouse in Ningbo; the first customer was the brand whose serum had died, and they came back.
A decade later we run extraction and synthesis lines, a 14-instrument analytical suite, and a Rotterdam warehouse so European docks clear in days, not weeks. But the rule hasn't moved. Every batch still has to earn its way out the door.
02 — Milestones
Eleven years, one direction.
The 90㎡ lab
Founded in Ningbo by chemists Lin Yao and Mara Visser. One HPLC, one rule, one returning customer.
GMP certification
ISO 22716 audit passed on first attempt. The four-eye release principle becomes written policy.
Ecocert COSMOS
Organic botanical line launches with contract cultivation across 12 controlled farm plots.
Peptide synthesis
In-house solid-phase peptide line opens. GHK-Cu and Matrixyl-family grades ship within a year.
8,000㎡ facility
Extraction, synthesis and QC consolidated under one roof; Rotterdam warehouse opens for EU distribution.
45 countries and counting
3,200 batches a year released, 99.9% first-pass. The rule still hasn't moved.
03 — How we work
Three habits we
refuse to break.
Evidence over eloquence
No adjective leaves this building without an instrument trace behind it. Our marketing vocabulary is a chromatogram.
Provenance is a promise
A ingredient is only as good as its worst step. We contract the farm, run the extraction and sign the analysis — the whole chain, no brokers in between.
Formulators are colleagues
Your bench is an extension of our lab. Send us the problem formulation — we answer with solubility data, not a brochure.
04 — The bench
Chemists first,
marketers distant third.
Forty-one people, thirty-three of them in lab coats. The four you'll most likely speak with:
Work with people who
answer in ppm.
Every conversation with Rawess starts with your formulation, not our price list.
